There is a horrific humanitarian crisis happening right now in Sudan and South Sudan. Maybe you have wondered how you can help millions of starving families in need? Now you can make a meaningful difference by hosting a fundraising initiative at your church to help people suffering in the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

“When you did it for the least of these, you did it unto Me …” – Matthew 25:40

THE PLIGHT OF STARVING REFUGEES IN SUDAN AND SOUTH SUDAN

Brutal civil war in Sudan has devastated the country. Millions have been forced to flee their homes, escaping to neighboring countries like South Sudan, or the remote Nuba Mountains. The fighting has destroyed businesses, services, hospitals, made it impossible to grow food, and blocked transportation routes. Desperate people can’t get supplies they need to survive.

“The worst I’ve ever seen”

A missionary doctor in the Nuba Mountains says conditions are the worst he’s seen in 16 years there. Refugee camps are overwhelmed. There’s not enough food, clean water, shelter, or medicine. Nearly 3 million people could soon die of starvation. Some already have. Desperate people are eating leaves and bugs. The UN officially declared it the worst famine in 40 years. But Sudan Relief Fund is fighting to make a difference in the lives of these victims. Since the start of the war, we’ve been working with our local networks delivering food, medicine, and providing transportation to get families out of danger. Many aid organizations have left because of the dire conditions. But you and the members of your church community can help save lives and bring hope.
